Ten Easy Ways to Burn More Calories
Cutting calories isn’t as hard as you might think. By making small changes in your daily routine and diet you can literally slash hundreds of calories and not even realize you’re doing it. Here are ten easy ways you can start downsizing calories today.
1. By drinking one or two glasses before you eat, you will cause yourself to feel partially full, which will help you to eat less during your mealtime. Do not use soda to fill up! Sodas and soft drinks are high in sugar and you can eliminate up to 300 calories a day by cutting these from your diet.
2. Dish out your meal servings from the kitchen and then put away any additional food before sitting down. This will help you avoid the temptation of finishing whatever’s left in the serving dishes.
3. Wherever you go, when safe, avoid parking in the nearest spot to your intended destination. This will help force you to get some extra walking and exercise in. 4. Try including exercises in your daily office routine. There are countless workouts that can be done right at your desk. These will not only help you burn calories, but they will also help you feel more energized and ready to work.
5. Avoid sugar as much as possible. Try eliminating sugar from your coffee. It may not taste too great at first, but you will get used to it. Also, never assume food is low in sugar just because it appears to be—always check the label.
6. Eat regular meals throughout the day. This will help discourage binge eating during a single meal and will encourage a more regular and efficient metabolism.
7. Look into super healthy snacks such as carrots and celery. You can eat these as often as you’d like, whenever you feel hunger pangs coming on, and you won’t ever have to feel guilty about eating them. Plus, celery actually helps you burn calories as you eat it!
8. Take the stairs instead of the elevator whenever possible. Even if you work or live on the 50th floor, you can still walk the first two or three levels.
9. Get simple home workout equipment such as an inexpensive ab roller and leave it in plain view as a constant reminder. Make a schedule of doing five ab rolls every three hours.
