Here are five unique recipes you can whip up in your own home. Add or subtract what ingredients you want — get creative and have fun! You really can’t go wrong when it comes to experimenting with different smoothie combinations.

1. Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie: Take 2 – 3 bananas and blend it with 4 spoonfuls of peanut butter then add a can of Sprite and a handful of ice. Blend all the ingredients except the ice first then add it in at the end for an added crunch.

2. Low-fat Lime Smoothie: Take a 1/2 cup of sliced limes, 3/4 cup of low-fat milk. 1 cup of light sherbet, 1/2 cup raspberries and a handful of ice and throw it in the blender until it is smooth. You can also replace Key Lime yogurt for the sherbet for a silkier taste.

3. Sweet Veggie Smoothie: Try this smoothie with a vegetable twist! You will need 1 cup apple juice, 1 cup of sliced apples, 1/2 cup sliced carrots, 1/2 cup cucumbers (make sure they are peeled and sliced!) and a large handful of ice. Blend until smooth and for added flavor add a pinch of nutmeg. Enjoy!

4. Tropical Tofu Berry Smoothie: Health food never tasted so good! You’ll need 1 cup of fat-free yogurt, 1 cup of skim milk, 1 banana, three inch tube of soft tofu, 3/4 cup of blueberries and one cup of strawberries. Blend the yogurt, milk, banana, and tofu first then add in the berries. Blend until smooth then drink up!

5. Vanilla Yogurt Smoothie: All you need is one banana, 3/4 cups of frozen peaches, eight ounces of frozen strawberries and one tablespoon of orange juice concentrate for this tasty drink. Blend all the ingredients together, add ice, blend once more then pour and enjoy.
